Upload your document. We review it, update it and rewrite it in plain English
Most organisations already have the manual, SOP or policy. The trouble is that it was written years ago, by several people, in language nobody reads, against guidance that has since changed.
Upload it as Word, PDF or text. INKFLOW reviews it, checks it against the current regulations and guidance for its subject, and rewrites it section by section in the style you choose: plain English, Easy Read for readers with a learning disability, or ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English for engineering and maintenance documents. Every fact, value and part number in your original is kept exactly.
Upload a documentHow it works
- 1Upload the documentWord, PDF, text, or paste it in. Choose the style and whether it should be checked against current guidance and restructured.
- 2Reviewed, then rewrittenA reviewer pass finds what is unclear, missing, unsafe or out of date. Each section is then rewritten, with the findings fixed and the changes logged.
- 3Compare and approveYou get the revised document in Word and PDF, a review report, a change log, a side-by-side comparison with your original and the reading age before and after.
What makes it different
Plain English
Short sentences, everyday words, active voice and "you", following UK government and Plain English Campaign practice. Technical terms are kept where they are needed and explained once.
Easy Read
One idea per short sentence, common words, and a picture placeholder beside each point, for patient leaflets and information under the Accessible Information Standard.
Simplified Technical English
ASD-STE100 rules for maintenance and engineering text: one instruction per sentence, one meaning per word, warnings before the step they apply to.
Checked against current guidance
The regulations and guidance for your subject are researched, with versions. Out-of-date references are flagged and updated; anything replaced but not stated becomes a marked placeholder, never a guess.
Nothing quietly changed
Values, doses, part numbers and names are kept exactly. Every change is listed in the change log, and the comparison shows each deletion and addition.
Training pack and review date
A quick-reference card, competency sign-off, audit checklist and staff quiz come with it, and a new review date is set with a reminder.
Before and after (plain English)
Before: In the event that the operative identifies any deviation from expected parameters, cessation of the process should be effected forthwith.
After: If any reading is outside the limits in Table 2, stop the process at once.
Questions
What can I upload?
Word (.docx), PDF, plain text or Markdown, or paste the text. Manuals, SOPs, policies, work instructions, patient leaflets and technical specifications.
Will it change my figures?
No. Every fact, value, dose, part number and name in your original is kept exactly. Where current guidance has changed a requirement, the change is tagged to its source; a new value the source does not state becomes a placeholder.
What do I get back?
The revised document in Word and PDF, a review report of your original, a change log, a comparison showing every deletion and addition, the guidance it was checked against, and a training pack.
How is it priced?
By the length of your document. The price is shown before you pay, and the order page quotes it in your currency.
Is the revised version approved for use?
A competent person in your organisation should check and approve it before use, as with any controlled document. The review report and comparison make that quick.
